Friday, May 1st is coming up soon! The May Day Organizing Committee has been hard at work, but there’s still lots to do, and lots of ways to contribute. If you would like to help, here are a bunch of ways to lend a hand:
- Donate money: Our anticipated budget is $1000. Donations can be made via etransfer to info@maydayottawa.org
Please use the security question “What are we celebrating?”
Answer “Mayday” - Endorse the march: Have a read of our Basis of Unity and consider endorsing the march.
- Come to the Art Build: Join us on April 19th to make noise-makers, placards and a giant banner for the march. All supplies will be provided, including snacks! Kid-friendly! Details here.
- Poster: We welcome anyone to print May Day posters and put them up! You can find printable march posters here and here and the Art Build poster here. If you’d like to pick up some posters from us, send us an email and we’ll try to get some to you.
- Organize a contingent: Grab your friends, co-workers, neighbours and make it a date. We’d love to see a diverse range of contingents participate in the march highlighting the beautiful multiplicities of labour and work in our communities.
- Come to our volunteer meeting: Interested in helping out on the day of the march? On Sunday, April 26th, from 1:00-3:00pm we invite you to join us for a meeting for march volunteers at McNabb Recreation Centre – 180 Percy Street, Ottawa (map link). Send an email to let us know if you can make it.
